Stream flows have increased just a bit over the past week with the precipitation and snowmelt though they are still well below the median for this time of year. With the warmer weather expect flows to continue to increase. The beaver dams where the river enters into South Fork Resservoir have been removed and a few rainbows have moved into the river attempt to spawn. Wooly buggers, egg sucking leeches, egg patterns and small nymphs under an indicator should work. As of May 13, the South Fork of the Humboldt was flowing at 50 cfs which is well below the median of 350 cfs for this time of year, though still a good flow for fishing.
