Our weather is cooperating and so is the fishing. We are getting a fairly great striper bite with the shore anglers having the best of luck. It has been a bit of a hit and a lot of misses but with some persistence and a little luck anglers are able to bring in a few stripers in the 2 to 7 pound range.
Our local angler Bryon Kilgor was fishing form shore below the community park area using shrimp and landed a nice 3.84 pound striper at 22 and 1/2 inches. The stripers seem to be moving in circles big ones some are having to wait for a while before the fish are back in the area.
We are also getting some rainbow trout action at all three of the stocking sites Davis Camp Community Park and Rotary Park. These fish are coming from Colorado fish hatchery Crowthers hatchery. The father and son team of Scott and son Colin Barker were able to land a few in the 16 to 18 in range. I weighed one at 1.64 pounds and 18 and 1/4 inches they were using power bait nuggets.
I have been hearing of catfish up on Lake Mohave being on the prowl so to say with anglers having success in and around the telephone cove and cabin site area.
Not much word from the marsh as of yet but we hope to hear soon as our weather heats up and the bass are moving away from the fry.
Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story mostly thanks so much for all of your support.
