Catfish season will soon switch into high gear with four plants scheduled in July. Lake Wohlford cats favor chicken liver, shrimp, or cut mackerel.
Stop by the ranger station to request a dough-bait recipe that works well for both catfish and carp.
Black Crappie are being caught under the crappie float or by boaters trolling for them. Crappie bite mini-jigs and live golden shiners. They prefer cover and bite best in the early mornings or late afternoons.
Largemouth Bass can be found lurking around structure. Bass can be caught on crankbaits, dark colored plastics, or crawdads.
