Some largemouth bass news and from up on Lake Mohave. Our local angler Dayton Grant decided to try our lake fishing with some success. Dayton was using one of his favorite spinner baits to target the largemouth bass. This one was 18 and 3/4 inches weighed in at 2.78 pounds. The largemouth bass should be ready to feed as they have been taking care of the fry. There are a few stragglers but for the most part they are off the nests. I have heard of a few stripers being landed by using swim baits and trolling in the telephone cove areas.
Here along the shores of the Colorado River below the Davis Dam the striper bite is doing well. Anglers are having success using anchovies along our shoreline and by boat. The casino area and near the dam have been producing a few along with the big bend area.
Just upriver from the nature center has been a great spot to try. Not much word from the marsh area as of yet I suppose it's the low water release in the morning and the heat in the afternoon.
Hope this helps some for now and we look forward to seeing you in soon to share that catch and your story. Mostly thanks so much for all of your support
