Fishing is slow throughout the river but look for large redband trout to start moving into the river on their spawning migration. Flows are low at 167 cfs.
Best fishing is near the town of Beatty. There is also plenty of public water along Sprague River highway. Remember, regulations have changed to a bag limit of one redband trout greater that 15 inches.
Fishing can be slow for warmwater fish (yellow perch, brown bullhead catfish and largemouth bass) in areas around the town of Sprague River and near Lone Pine. Bait is allowed from Saddle Mtn Pit Bridge to Godowa Springs Road bridge. Yellow perch are beginning to concentrate if you can find them. Sampling showed yellow perch have highest densities in areas of S’Ocholis Canyon and Council Butte areas.
