Provo River, Lower, Olmstead Diversion Dam upstream to Deer Creek Dam
Stream flows have dropped and are now hovering around 140 to 150 cubic feet per second. The weeds now present as a result of the lower flows can make effectively targeting fish and landing fish challenging. Streamers have been moving and producing fish. Hatches are a bit sporadic, but small baetis mayfly and midge patterns are working well. Small patterns tend to be most effective during the winter on the Provo River. We recommend using size 20-24 midge nymph patterns and baetis mayfly patterns, as well as size 18-20 sow bug patterns. Anglers fishing lower/closer to the Olmstead Diversion may find swinging soft hackle patterns, or dead drifting balanced leeches and slow-stripping streamers pretty effective for hungry brown trout and rainbow trout. This stretch of the Lower Provo River receives a lot of angler use. Please be mindful of other anglers, share the resource and practice good stream etiquette.

Provo River, Middle, Legacy Bridge (SR-113) upstream to Jordanelle Dam
Stream flows are hovering around 150 cubic feet per second (measured at Jordanelle dam) and around 130 cfs at River Road Bridge. Streamers have been moving and producing fish, particularly in the evenings. Anglers report daily midge and baetis mayfly hatches, with increased activity occurring during cool, overcast conditions. Nymphing small sow bug, mayfly nymph and caddis larva (size 18-24) are also working well.

Provo River, Middle, from Deer Creek Reservoir upstream to Legacy Bridge SR-113
Stream flows are hovering around 170 cubic feet per second around the Charleston bridge. Streamers have been moving and producing fish, particularly in the evenings. Nymphing small sow bug, mayfly nymph and caddis larva (size #18-#24) are also working well. Slow-swinging soft-hackle patterns and working streamers through deeper water can also be effective dusk/dawn and worth trying when other techniques aren't moving fish. Nightcrawler, floating minnow hard baits, in-line spinners, small spoons, marabou jigs and small curly-tailed jigs can also be very effective for conventional anglers.
