The recent storms and high flows have slowed things here. The water is cold and murky. In the Lower Kern, flows have increased to 5000 CFS making fishing very difficult in the canyon. The Spring Bass bite is beginning to kick in and have been coming on Get Bent Baits, Senkos, jigs, and spinners. Catfish can be taken with Dip baits and nightcrawlers. At the time of reporting, the Upper Kern River is flowing at 1385 CFS and the Lower Kern River is flowing at 5002 CFS.
