Report: Reports from the guides are that this is a banner year for large fish! Hatches on the Fall continue in earnest with Callibaetis becoming more and more predominant. Some good hatches happen below the Island Rd bridge. For the spinners you will want to try the CDC Biot Spinner in Callibaetis, fishing a Zallibaetis nymph during the hatch can be super effective on the swing, or stripped in. Water Boatmen are likewise a staple from now through the end of the season. Theo's Boatman or an Amber Bubbleback Caddis work very well when swung and stripped. Otherwise, nymphs like the Sweet Pea, olive and brown S&Ms #16 & 18, Olive Hotspot in #18, and the Red Headed Stepchild and RK Sin City in #18 continue to be super effective. Caddis in the evening will cap your day with some solid topwater action.
Hot Flies: TB Drowned Rusty Spinner, PMD's, Norman's Wiggletails, Pheasant Tails, Mercer's Missing Link, Zug Bugs, and Leeches.
