The Russian continues to remain open with flows hovering just above the threshold and according to the forecast should remain so into next week. Reports have been mostly small steelhead in the 1-3 lb range both hatchery and wild fish with some coho mixed in. Wild steelhead and coho salmon are protected so please do not drag them on the beach and carefully release. Flies, little cleos in copper and cured roe have been producing. On the crabby side of things the boaters seem to be doing better then the shore people so far with mostly shorts off the jetties.
