The water level at Isabella held this week at 36 percent of capacity. The cooler weather has caused the water temps to drop, and the non-stop bass bite has slowed a bit. Bass can be found with A-rigs, small swimbaits, jigs, and shaky heads. Anglers continue to report crappie in 15 to 30-feet of water. Our contacts reported finding fish in submerged trees around French Gulch and the South Fork with live shiners or crappie jigs. Catfish are still eating anything that smells, but anglers are doing best with shrimp, chicken liver and SSS dip bait. Trout can be caught with garlic scented baits, spinners, mice tails and worms. Boaters can find them trolling leadcore with needlefish, Tasmanian devils, and flicker shad around the dam.
