Stocking: Another 1, 500 pounds of Rainbow Trout from Idaho was stocked last week. The next stocking will be the week of January 8th where another 1,500 pounds will be planted. We will stock trout every other week through April. Follow our Instagram feed for the most updated info regarding trout stocking.
What’s the Catch? The bite was fast and furious last weekend! The truck from Idaho arrived during business hours last week due to winter break and you know what the say...the early bird gets the worm. Anglers were pulling limits from Cloister and Siesta Coves on Thursday and Friday. By Saturday, the trout were more dispersed and the action was in and around Hermit Cove. Hookup Baits and Powerbait in scented varieties were reeling them in. Don’t sleep on the bass bite either. Bass were being hooked from Shadow to Sentry Cove as well as the t-dock. We heard shiners and swimbaits were working for bass. The catfish bite seems to be picking up with more reports lately. We expect to see more catfish pulled during New Moon Fishing on January 13th.
Conditions: The water temperature is just under 65 degrees. The lake fill has concluded so be aware of submerged structure if you’re fishing close to shore in a boat. The water column is well oxygenated and conditions are good for trout. The sun is rising at 6:51 a.m. and setting at 4:54 p.m.
