The Wison gets the North Coast's largest release of hatchery winter steelhead and those fish are starting to show up with a few getting caught. Hatchery winter steelhead on the Wilson are from wild broodstock and as such the run peaks January through March.
Overall, fishing has been slow thus far but there were some fish caught low in the system last week and a couple have already returned to the adult trap at the South Fork. Fishing on the Wilson should just keep improving as the season goes on.
