Emigrant is at 46 percent full and filling very slowly. Small watercraft, trailered boats and inflatables can launch at the main boat ramp Emigrant will be stocked with 1,000 legal-sized trout this week.
Fishing for warmwater species is warming up now with the weather and there should be bass available in deep water near the dam and trout are spread throughout the lake. A recent report indicated bass are being caught but it isn't clear if that was in one of the arms of the lake.
There is a longstanding health advisory for consumption of resident warmwater species in Emigrant for high levels of mercury. Consult the sportfishing regulations or the Oregon Health Authority for more information on consumption guidelines.
