Remaining ice is unsafe at this time. Stay off all ice during the ice off. Anglers fishing the open water are landing trout with combinations of Powerbait and worms or small spinners. Northern pike up to 30″ have been caught on flashy spoons and hard plastics. Bass fishing will not pick up until more consistent warm weather patterns come through.
Please note that NDOW has placed radio tags in several Northern Pike. These pike will have an orange floy tag near their dorsal fin and a small antenna (~ 7 inches long) coming from their stomach. Please return these fish to the water for research purposes.
