Isabella lake increased this week to 61 percent of its capacity and continues to rise. The crappie bite is on fire, and anglers are coming from all over to get in on the action. Crappie are being found from shore and out in deeper water near structure, anywhere from 5 to 25-feet of water. Our contacts reported scoring slabs right offshore in brush piles with Keitech 2” swimbaits in 1/16oz heads in chartreuse, white, electric shad and purple. In deeper water near structure, they’ve been fooling them with white minijigs along and small or medium live shiners. The bass bite has been slow to fair. Bass have been coming on mid diving jerkbaits and crankbaits. Zoom trick worms on Shakey heads and natural shad Senkos are fooling bass. Trout fishing has been steady the last few weeks. Anglers scored trout with minijigs, garlic scented Powerbait, and spinners. Trollers have done well on non-windy days with leadcore followed by Flicker shad, Tasmanian Devils and Needlefish. Catfish have been found with SSS Dip Bait, cut mackerel, and frozen shad.
