In May on the ole big river, you might find a few fish eating baetis, but the real game is streamer fishing. Get that fly close to the bank, give it a few strips, and hold on.
Of course, you could throw a nymph rig, but that’s kinda lame right?
Nymphs: Prince nymphs 10-16, Runt Stone Golden 12-16, Pat’s Rubberlegs 8-12, 20 Incher 10-14, Flashback Pheasant Tail 14-20, Blowtorch Jig 14-16.
Streamers: Buggers, Sculpzilla, Peanut Envy, Mouseketeer, Cheech Leech, Dungeons, Circus Peanut.
Dries: Vis-a-Dun Baetis 18-22, Smoke Jumper Baetis 18-22, Parachute Adams 16-22, Parachute Baetis 18-20.
