Thanks to our recent trout stocking, anglers are having great luck catching rainbow trout. Local angler Jonathan Longtime landed his limit at Rotary Park, fishing from shore using plastic trout worms. Nice catch!
I'm also receiving reports of striper activity in the Community Park area and near the dam. Anglers are having the best luck with anchovies, while lures are producing some of the larger fish.
A reminder: it's not legal to use game fish for bait; trout and largemouth bass are examples of game fish. Check the Game and Fish Handbook for permissible bait for striper fishing if needed.
There's not much word from Lake Mohave, but I'll check and try to find out what's biting up on the lake. The panfish are on their nests, and the largemouth bass are watching the fry; they should be moving soon.
Hope this update helps for now, and we look forward to seeing you soon to share your catch and story. Mostly, thanks for the support. Now, go catch a fish!
