Catfish Season: Catfish Opener is Memorial Day weekend where 1,500 pounds of Channel Catfish from Alpine Fishery will be stocked. A total of 8,500 pounds of catfish will be stocked this season. With catfish season comes night fishing! The lake will be open on Friday and Saturday until midnight beginning May 24th.

What’s the Catch? Sounds like the trout bite is beginning to slow down a little, but anglers who know where to go were still catching limits on nightcrawlers. Reports were they are still biting at the t-dock and around the buoylines. A lot of bass this weekend from all over the lake. One angler caught his 11+ pound hog on Roboworms. The panfish bite is picking up! We saw a few boats with baskets of ‘gills. Pieces of nightcrawler and meal worms were reeling them in.

Conditions: The current water temperature at the surface is around 70 degrees. We’ve begun aerating the lake, so the water temps will start to stabilize throughout the water column. The lake is well oxygenated. The sun is rising at 5:48 a.m. and setting at 7:41 p.m.

With the water draw, be aware of exposed and submerged structure while boating and muddy shoreline around the lake. See details about the lake draw above.
