ATTENTION BOATERS: There is a full span tree across the river between 4th and 5th bridge. Early reports are that it is impassable, use extreme caution.
Spring Chinook fishing in the Nestucca has been slow to fair so far but there are some fish being caught both in the Bay and in the lower river. The Little Nestucca also gets a release of hatchery spring Chinook and those fish should be showing up as well. A good freshet over the past weekend should have pushed some fish into and up the river.
The river is at near winter flow levels as of this writing and the drift boat runs below 1st bridge should be floatable through the weekend.
The Nestucca also gets a release of hatchery summer steelhead. Some fish are showing up, but numbers are low so far and fishing is slow. Hopefully the freshet brought in some new fish.
Cutthroat trout fishing should be fair to good, with fish spread through the river system.
