Most anglers avoided the hotter parts of the day and fished early or late. Striped bass ate cut baits and jumbo live minnows after check gates and along inside bends of the aqueduct. Lure anglers used deep diving jerkbaits, Rattle Traps, and small swimbaits to fool line sides. Largemouth went after weightless Senkos, small swimbaits and finesse baits on the drop shot in eddies. A 10 pound bass was reported by a very lucky angler last week. Catfish anglers took advantage of the warmer nighttime temperatures to target whisker fish with Tripple S dip bait, chicken liver, and cut anchovies.
