Water Conditions: ??The Fly Fishing Only Section is now open, and the fishing there has been good for smaller steelhead smolts. Most fish caught are in the 4-12 inch range, but a few 14-18 fish have been seen every day. Weekends have been crowded.

There are also still some wild steelhead and sea-run brown trout being caught in the Junction City area, although inconsistantly. This is real steelhead fishing now, with one hookup a day considered a good day, but for the die-hard steelhead anglers, some chances are better than no chances!

Fishing Conditions & Hatches: ??#8 Golden Stones, #8 Golden Stones, and more #8 Golden Stones; other good bets: #10 and #16 Poxyback Hare's Ear, #14 Red Copper John, #14 Psycho Prince. Once the rain starts, be ready to throw some egg patterns again, shrimp pink and steelhead orange!

Flies: Dries: Little Yellow Stone imitations (#14 Yellow Stimularor, etc), Yellow Humpies #12-16; Elk Hair Caddis (Olive or tan) #14-16; Parachute Adams #12-16.

Nymphs: #14-16 Red Copper John; San Juan Worms; #14-16 GB Prince Nymph; #14-16 GB Pheasant Tail Nymph
