The water level at Illipah Reservoir is still in good shape, compared to historic water use. Water temperatures are similar to Comins Lake, sitting between 68-70 degrees.  With warmer water temperatures, anglers are encouraged to fish the early morning and evening hours to reduce stress on trout.  Anglers should do well on nightcrawlers, PowerBait, spinners and wet flies behind a water bubble. A total of 4,830 Rainbow Trout averaging 9.2” were stocked this spring.  Flyfishers will do well with matching the hatch and throwing nymph patterns. Vegetation on the south end of the reservoir has increased slightly, but access should still be available.
