Find tips for fishing Buoy 10 and the latest salmon regulation updates for coastal rivers and streams.
Best bets for weekend fishing
- With favorable ocean conditions, fishing for salmon, tuna and bottomfish has been good.
- Anglers are still catching summer steelhead in the Nestucca, Wilson and Siletz rivers.
- The lower Deschutes has seen the best return of wild steelhead since 2015, and fishing has been good.
- Fall Chinook are swimming about in the Siletz and Rogue bays, with some fish already moving upriver.
- As evening temperatures cool, look for trout fishing to pick up in the lakes and reservoirs that were stocked this spring and summer.
- Fishing for sea-run cutthroat trout has been good in coastal rivers and streams.
- Late summer fishing in the hike-in lakes of the Cascade and Wallowa mountains, and the Sky Lakes and Mountain Lake wilderness areas can be very good.
