Stocking: Lake Jennings was freshly stocked with 1,000 pounds of catfish this week! Another 1,000 pounds of catfish will be added the week of September 9th. The last stocking for this season will take place in October, meaning you can enjoy night fishing every Friday and Saturday night until then.

What’s the Catch? With the lake fill, fishing was hit or miss last weekend. Sounds like the fishing was good after sundown. The bass were going after plastic worms and Texas rig from shoreline. The Redear bite was good around the boat dock, Siesta Cove, and the t-dock. Meal worms are like candy to the sunfish! Boats were bringing in catfish after sunset. Most reported, they were fishing the edge of the channels with mackerel and garlic nightcrawlers. The channel off of the t-dock is usually teeming with cats.

Conditions: The current water temperature at the surface is around 80 degrees. The sun is rising at 6:17 a.m. and setting at 7:25 p.m. The lake refill has begun! The district is refilling at approximately 25 million gallons a day. We expect the fill to last about a month. The t-dock will remain closed until the water level rises more and it can be assessed for safety.
