East and Paulina are still fishing well! We’ve had success with balanced leeches, damsels, chironomids, and callibaetis, which we have been seeing some awesome hatches of lately. Keep in mind we might not be seeing them for much longer. If you’re looking for a bit of a change, try using a Beetle, ant, or chubby pattern instead of an indicator. For a bit of variety, stripping small buggers or baitfish patterns has been producing some good results. Paulina’s been working similarly, so if you’re headed there, keep that in mind. Please note, due to the fires Paulina and East are both at level 1 evacuation advisory, meaning you can still fish it but depending on the winds and how the Flat Top Fire and Firestone Fire behave, that could very well change.
