The lake is currently closed on weekdays, but remains open on the weekends. We will re-open for weekday fishing in mid-December following the first trout stock.

The bass have been hitting frogs, swimbaits, and dark colored plastics. They like to frequent rock piles or hide in the reed beds using the cover to ambush their prey.

The pattern of large catfish being caught in the autumn months is repeating itself again this year. The latest example, last weekend, Jon Dungan of Escondido caught a 15.50# catfish in the middle of the lake using cut mackerel. Catfish have excellent senses of taste and smell and are drawn to baits that are oily or have a strong aroma.
