Pyramid Lake held near 92 percent of its storage capacity, and water temperatures fell into the low sixties. High winds were an issue for most of the week, but that didn’t stop the trout anglers from cleaning up in the protected marina. Good numbers of 1-to-4-pound trout were reported by anglers using minijigs, dough bait, spinners and spoons. The big bait striped bass anglers reported a few fish in the 10-to-15-pound range, but that bite hasn’t kicked into high gear yet. Striped bass also fell for spoons and swimbaits in deeper water. Cut bait anglers reported schoolie sized striped bass near Yellowbar and the dam. Bass anglers used Texas rigs, drop shot, and Senkos in 15 to 30 feet of water for fair results. Bass were also reported on spoons and crankbaits near rocky structure. Catfish anglers used dip bait, chicken liver, and cut baits for decent results in the marina and at Yellowbar.
