Illipah Reservoir is ~95% ice covered. The ice thickness varies from ½ to 2 inches, with areas of exposed water.  All ice should be considered unsafe. Although warmer temperatures are predicted, it is unclear if the ice at Illipah Reservoir will open.  If it does open up, try nightcrawlers, PowerBait, spinners and wet flies behind a water bubble for a trout bite. A total of 9,012 rainbow trout averaging 9.3 inches were stocked this fall.
