We have some exciting river fishing news this week! Local angler Bryan Werkmeister had an incredible day fishing from the shore in the Community Park area along the Colorado River. Using a trout-pattern swim bait, Bryan landed two trophy-sized stripers: one weighing 15.16 pounds and measuring 33.5 inches, and another at 18.32 pounds and 34.75 inches.

This time of year, the larger fish are starting to appear, and Bryan found some beauties! While smaller stripers are still abundant, these larger catches are a fantastic surprise for anglers.

We've also heard reports of striper activity near Rotary Park, but the news from the Community Park area has been especially exciting. In addition to the stripers, rainbow trout have just been stocked, and anglers are catching their limits of five trout per outing.

It’s shaping up to be a great fishing season along the Colorado River. With the low water releases, shore fishing has been productive. Meanwhile, trolling remains the best method for success on Lake Mohave and down at Lake Havasu.

We hope this update helps and inspires you to get out and fish. Stop by with your catches so we can share your story. Thank you for your continued support—now go catch a fish!
