As of 12/31/24 the reservoir still has pockets of open water and is NOT safe for ice fishing. Ice should improve with colder temperatures forecasted into the next week, including overnight temperatures dipping into the negatives.

Illipah Reservoir: Illipah Reservoir is approximately 85 percent ice covered
Comins Lake: Ice thickness varies from 0 inches to 8.5 inches
Cold Creek Reservoir: The water has recovered nicely and there should be decent shoreline fishing along most of the reservoir
Cave Lake: Dam reconstruction is complete and NDOW is impounding water

Ice conditions are fluctuating daily
