The lake fell to 29 percent of its storage capacity, and anglers reported an improved bite. Finesse baits took spotted bass and largemouth from 5 to 40 feet deep. Drop shot with a short leader accounted for most of the fish, but Carolina rigs and Neko rigs got attention as well. Diving crankbaits in shad colors accounted for some bigger largemouth. Crappie made a showing at Horse Creek with minijigs and small swimbaits fooling fish over rocky structure.
