The lake still has a good foot or two of ice on it. I would guesstimate it will start breaking up by mid May. Hopefully sooner. One of my favorite lakes for Browns and Mackinaws. The report is open for lodging and dining. For more information, go to capleslakeresort.com.

: Tis the season for Fishmas
Lake Tahoe: The fishing has picked up over the last couple weeks
Silver Lake: The lake should be thawing out soon
Woods Lake: As of this week. The road and campground is still closed.
Blue Lake Lower: The road as of this week is still closed at the first gate
Burnside Lake: As of this week the road is still closed
Indian Creek Reservoir: Fishing has been slow and the lake is starting to get a little green
East Carson River (CA): The river is running good and clear
West Carson River (CA): The river is running low but very fishable
Topaz Lake: The lake has been fishing well midmorning to afternoons
Bridgeport Reservoir: The lake level is up and the fishing will commence on April 26th

: The patient fisherman reaps the most rewards
Caples Lake: The lake still is frozen and anglers are still out ice fishing
Red Lake: As the weather changes, be cautious of the ice conditions
Blue Lake Lower: The road is still closed to the first gate
Indian Creek Reservoir: Both roads are open, but with weather coming in, use cation venturing in there
East Carson River (CA): The river is running at 440 CFS and clear
West Carson River (CA): The river is running low at 120 CFS
Topaz Lake: The lake has not risen over the last week or so
