THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE THE EASTERN SIERRA
Barb and I are headed to June Lake in the Eastern Sierra this morning (Friday) for our 26th wedding anniversary to do some hiking and fishing before the season ends.

Of course another season starts tomorrow -- the balance of state duck season -- and my brother Bob invited me to hunt a pond he knows that is loaded with mallards.

Going to have to pass this time. Well in fact I have missed every duck opener since my bachelor party up at Topaz Lake 26 years ago.

Timing is everything but I'm happy with my choice and really stoked I get to spend the next few days with her in God's country. I'll post some trout reports if the weather lets us get out of the cabin. Forecast is for rain and maybe even snow. We've got plenty of firewood.
