Things are happening at Lake Almanor, reported Doug Neal at Almanor Fishing Adventures. "The famous salmon hole known as The Snag has been producing some decent kings up to four pounds. Anchovy tails are getting the most fish, but nightcrawlers are also working suspended about four feet off the bottom.
"Trollers are scattered all over, and so are the fish. Just keep you lines in the water and they will come. Nightcrawlers, Needlefish, Seps Pro Secrets, all have been getting hits. Slip bobbers and Power Bait off the bottom have also been effective.
"It would appear that the Hex Hatch will be delayed this season. It usually goes off in late June and into July. Everything is about three weeks behind this year because of the extended winter weather and snowpack. Locals feel it will be in mid-July and into August.
