After an epic spike in flows owing to upper reservoir releases, the river is presently dropping rapidly, down to 3100 cfs in the Canyon at this writing.?? Reports already indicate improved fishing, which should continue so long as flows remain stable.?? If it sticks around the lower-3000 cfs range, or below, so much the better ??? nice flows!
Look for PMD's in the early afternoon, and Caddis to pick up later in the afternoon to dusk.?? Golden, Summer Stone and?? Yellow Sally nymphs are smart offerings to fill-in the non-hatch spaces; or, a larger stone dry with a dropper nymph (viz., PMD nymph, deep caddis pupa, Lightning Bug, Copper John).?? Yellow Sally adults should pick up later in the month.
