The Forest Service is negotiating as we speak for the construction of new bathrooms at the Convict Lake campground. This will be a nice upgrade but will require some closure to perform the work.

As of Thursday, September 1st, the Forest Service has indicated that the campground WILL REMAIN OPEN AFTER LABOR DAY. All spaces will be available on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE (just like the old days). The recreation.gov and reserveamerica.com websites will not take any reservations for arrivals beginning on September 6, 2011. You will have to come on up and grab a spot.

The campground MAY CLOSE EARLY if they are able to start the work this year. The more likely scenario is that they will start the work next spring and remain open this fall into late October.

We will send out an email and post updated information to our website as we are informed.
