Kevin Brock informed us about his fishing locations: Kevin will be fishing on the Klamath River for one more day (10-6-11), then from October 7-31 (and maybe beyond, depending on the fishing), he will be guiding on the Feather and Sacramento Rivers.

This past week, Kevin Brock was fishing the Klamath River near the town of Klamath, and the Sacramento River near Chico.

The photo shows Kevin Brock with a 42 lb Klamath River salmon yesterday on the Klamath River, a trophy-sized 42-lb salmon was brought to the boat, then released after the photo opportunity. That's a great way to wrap up the current Klamath fishing sessions!

The early part of the last week (9-30 to 10-3) was spent fishing the Sacramento River. While the approach of the first 2 storms of the season brought challenges with south winds and general storm bluster, the fishing was consistently good, with salmon up to 23 lbs, as well as limits and near-limits.

The previous week saw a 33 lb Sacramento River salmon, so the big ones are out there. You just never know what the next strike will bring!

On Tuesday and Wednesday (10-4 and 10-5), Kevin Brock was back on the Klamath River. Lots of salmon were caught and released (due to size restrictions), and there were plenty of jacks to take home for the table too. That 42 lb salmon was the icing on the cake.

The Klamath River fish were caught drifting roe on light tackle, using 8-pound fluorocarbon leader with 10 lb P-Line, Penn 260 Slammer spinning reels, and G. Loomis GL3 ultralight rods, for the ultimate in fishing action.

Kevin will be on the Klamath River for today, then back to the Sacramento and Feather Rivers for the rest of October. This one of the best times of year for California king salmon fishing, and it looks like the fishing will be epic this year - don't miss it.
