San Joaquin River - Stockton, CA

The flows are increasing as the snow begins to melt in the upper elevations but the current conditions are not even remotely bad for this time of year.?? The fish are very eager to hit most attractor patterns like Royal Coachman's, Trudes, and Stimulators #14-18.?? Adams and pmd patterns #16-18 are also very good here.?? The pocket water is not as productive as the slower sections and the tail outs of the larger pools, so target on this water under the current conditions.
Sotcher and Starkweather Lakes have been planted and these are excellent small lakes to tube with a very good chance of hooking into a large Alpers planted rainbow.?? Streamer patterns like our Spruce-A-Bu and Loeberg will fool these fish #8-10 when you troll or cast with a full or moderate sinking tip line.
