Area fishing continues to be very productive here on New Melones, Lake Tulloch and Lake Don Pedro. Here on NEW MELONES rainbows are very active off of Carson Creek, in the spillway and off Bear Cove. Most productive depth at 35' to 50' trolling Ex-Cel, Cripplures or Speedy Shiners. Bows are average two plus pounds.

At down stream impoundment LAKE TULLOCH rolling Threadfin Shad at twenty feet has been producing some fine Rainbows to three pounds. Bows are located over the river channel from Black Creek to the bridge.

LAKE DON PEDRO, a very good bite also remains here on the large Mother Lode Lake. Off Hatch Creek, Graveyard Bay and off Laughlin Island in Fleming Bay at 25' to 40' for very healthy Rainbows to three plus pounds. Small presentation working well as bait fish Threadfin Shad are small and the bows are feeding on these, Needlefish, small Ex-Cel's, Sockeye Slamers in shad colors are a good bet.

SACRAMENTO RIVER (Vierra's Resort) averaging about one fish per boat this past week. Most Kings are being landed at the mouth to the deep water channel. Use Silvertron or Blue Fox spinners.

Good Luck,
Danny Layne
