This place feels like a ghost town, Hirschdale, the Truckee River. The summer tourists are gone, rafters, kayakers, illegal campers, people that leave their beer cans for me to clean up, and fly fisherman.

Most of the leaves are off the Cottonwoods, mornings are cold and crisp. This is when I like to go out and fish my zone. I have the whole place to myself. I'll go out nymph up on a few runs, come back have lunch, start a fire, than go swing some streamers, or if I'm lucky, toss some baetis at some random fish. Very relaxing, a bit melancholy as you know winter is looming. This week winter is taking it's time. My neighbor, a brown trout came over to eat my baetis nymph today, and he posed for the camera.
