Treat yourself to the only exhibit of its kind...Learn about the science and history of the sport and what has motivated fly fishermen for centuries, while exploring the contribution that the rivers, fish, and people living in the shadow of Mount Shasta have made to the conservation-oriented world of fly fishing.
TURTLE BAY EXPLORATION PARK, in partnership with THE FLY SHOP ? will present Fly Fishing:The Art of Deception, celebrating the beauty, mystery and historical significance of northern California fly-fishing.This original exhibition has drawn contributions from national museums and chronicles a pastime rich in history, and artistry that has spawned a passionate sport unlike any other in the outdoors.
Learn the unique history of Shasta's rainbows, the most famous and widely distributed trout on Earth, and discover why the Lower Sacramento River, right outside our door, is such a special place in the world of fly-fishing.
This multi-sensorial exhibition will provide visitors of all ages with an in-depth look at why fly-fishing is about more than just catching fish. It is a family-friendly way to experience the great outdoors and learn about the environment, while helping to promote habitat and species conservation.
