When The Fly Shop ? opened its doors in 1978 the Klamath River was one of the primary guided angling destinations that we offered.
Current River Conditions:
Still, not a bad choice to go and just get away from it all. Wait for mid May for the earliest reports of better fishing. Contact us about the Klamath River!
The Fly Shop's ? Tips:
In May and June, fishing large salmon fly dries along the banks, next to boulders and in shallow tail outs will produce those carnivores fish this river is famous for. I would not want to be a salmon fly on this river! Use 9' leaders, tapered to 2x. Attach your salmon fly dry. Cast! Check back here for updates as we close in on May!
Suggested Fly Patterns:
Dry Flies:
• Mercer's Flush Floater Foam Salmonfly
• Rogue Foam Stone
• True Fly Stoneflies
• Aanes Mojo Salmon Fly
• Matt's Salmonfly
• Thing From Uranus Salmonfly

• Amber Wing Prince #12-14
• Red Copper Johns #14-18
