Crowley Lake - Mammoth Lakes, CA (Mono County)

Water Conditions: The lake is down to about mid-level and continuing to drop. Water temps are getting up there and over ideal 57F about everywhere. Algae is getting worse by the day and if it moves in it can shut you down.
Daphnia seems to be waning so not a problem.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Fair to Good. The fish are still stuck in the north arm and have yet to mass migrate into McGee but it has to be any day with the super hot daytime temps continuing to heat up the water. Minimal hatches so keep larvae patterns on until it gets gpoing again.
Recommended Flies:
Dries: Not enough Calibaetis to bother.
Nymphs: Bead head Red/Black Optimidge #16, Copper Tiger Small, Blood worms , bright red or Albino Baron early then darker ( Red Baron) later when sun is overhead. Try Ultimate Damsel, purple leeech or Jensen's Calibaetisup up top.
Streamers: Get some flash and red in there to be seen in a green world.
