Water Conditions: Fair to Good.
Flows vary on a daily basis - 15cfs as of 8/9.
Water temps in the high 60's, so fish early as not to stress out the fish in the warmer water.
Fishing Conditions and Hatches: Good fishing mostly big hopper and attractor flies on the far banks and in the fast water early in the morning until about 10. Trico spinners early in the morning. Not as strong as it was though. Not really worth fishing mid-day right now. Caddis and some BWO patterns in the late afternoons until dark.

Hot Creek: At Hot Creek fish Trico's or mayflies in the AM & Hoppers in the afternoon
San Joaquin River: The fish at San Joaquin are getting more selective, so it's important to match the hatch
Crowley Lake: Good to Excellent fishing at Lake Crowley. Early AM & 11:30 to noon are the best times
Owens River: Yhere is a nice caddis hatch on the Upper Owens in the early AM & late evening when there is no wind
Owens River: With the water so clear at the Owens River Gorge, a stealthy approach is required
Rock Creek - Section 1: Rock Creek gets you away from the crowds & the fishing is good
Rush Creek: Rush Creek has good fishing but you definitely need a stealthy approach
Owens River: Fishing on the Lower Owens is best in the morning before it gets too hot

for Friday, August 3rd, 2012Mammoth Lakes : Fishing conditions haven't changed much in the Mammoth Lakes area
Hot Creek: Good Trico haych followed by some small Mayflies on Hot Creek
San Joaquin River: It's time to "match the hatch" on the San Joaquin river. The fish are more selective
Crowley Lake: Crowley is "on fire". 'Bows are being taken from 18" to 25" and Browns to 22"
Owens River: There is a strong caddis hatch in the late afternoon and early evening on the Upper Owens
Owens River: Not much has changed at the Owens River Gorge, the key is to be stealthy
Rock Creek - Section 1: Great fishing at Rock Creek if you don't mind a little hike
Rush Creek: The fish seem to like caddis or small hoppers in the late afternoon at Rush Creek
Owens River: Conditions on the Lower Owens can hardly be better, but fish in the morning before it's too hot
Bridgeport Reservoir: No recent reports from Bridgeport Reservoir
