Seems like Indian Summer has kicked in. Usually does this time of year. Nights are cool and getting longer, and fishing is improving on the Truckee River. Still a bit warm in the afternoons, but mornings are perfect. Fish seem to be chowing on small crayfish, small baitfish, stones, and baetis. Look down at your feet, that will give you a clue. Really though, the good fishing has yet to arrive. We need some cold fronts to come through and push some fish around. Good flies are Skipper Stones, Pat's Rubberlegs, Mercer's Micro Mays, and any good small cray, and zonker type flies. For the dry fly crowd, hopper fishing can be good at times, along with big winged carpenter ants. If the weather gets nasty, we'll see good fall bwo hatches, along with mahogany duns, and maybe some october caddis. Flows are low through town, to the confluence of Prosser Creek. Flows are perfect from P Creek down through the Eastside of Reno.
