The spring weather has really warmed the waters at Don Pedro and this has turned on the fishing. The trout fishing is good from the surface to 40 feet out in open water off Big Oak Island towards Ramos creek area, and surprisingly the kokanee are also on a good bite, in the same area. Clients on Wednesday were able to land 12 fish with ten rainbows, a kokanee and one small salmon. Friday's clients were able to land seven kokanee and eight rainbows while trolling the above mentioned waters.

The kokanee were found at depths from 40 to 60 feet deep while trolling Uncle Larry's spinners behind Rocky Mountain Tackle dodgers, all tipped with shoe peg corn soaked in pro-cure bait oils. The fish ranged in size as small as nine inches to most of the fish being 12 to 13 inches and were fat. The kokanee are scattered from copper mountain, Hatch creek out into the waters of Jenkins hill to Ramos creek.
