Our 2 day annual 2 day charter aboard the PACIFIC DAWN was anticipated to be a great trip with the recent Bluefin Tuna counts. All anglers arrived at FISHERMANS LANDING early and were signed in by 8 pm. The baot was already at the dock and we were allowed to board and find our bunks. We were greeted by Capt Dustin aka. Skinny and Capt Mike aka. Man Dog with Alex and Fernando on the deck and Chris would be our cook for this trip. With everyone on board and settled in the decision was made to leave early and head for the tuna pens as the Bluefin had been biting that day.

We awoke at tuna pens and soon started soaking some baits at grey light, without any action we got a call from another boat to head over their way as the Bluefin were biting there. We arrived 30 minutes later and as soon as the baits hit the water we had several hook ups. We ended the day with 60 Bluefin Tuna to 70 pounds, with an average weight of 35-40 pounds. Day 2 was much the same as day 1, but we only managed to put 32 more on the deck.
