The water is warm on the Klamath, which means that the fishing is difficult. Think Autumn!

Current River Conditions: Water is warm! Not so good. Lot's of complaints about moss and how it fouls your flies and leader within seconds of presenting the fly. Great fishing is elusive on this stream through the dog days of summer. You might find a few rainbows chowing on prince nymphs, maybe an adult steelhead but don't plan on it. Expect some solitude on the Klamath during the summer months. We will have better reports by the middle of September or when the weather starts to cool off.

River conditions are great along the entire stretch. Good time to go on a raft trip or get the kayak out on the river. Go enjoy!

The Fly Shop's?? Tips: Mid summer is a tough time on the Klamath, especially this year with the thick algae blooms happening as a result of drought conditions. It's best to wait until October and water temperatures that eliminate the algae for the winter.

Fly ' to 9.5'. Switch rods are popular and make casting very easy. Spey rods fit in well on the Klamath river.
