Mark Eddison had a theory that the larger stripers were hanging out in deep water. Luckily for him his theory panned out when he reeled in a 30-pound striper. Eddison caught his trophy on a pink Spinnow in 60 to 70 feet of water near Sand Island. Top-water action remains good and many anglers are returning with full coolers. Those fishing for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass have had success working coves with jerkbaits or crankbaits in about 20 to 40 feet of water. With the new moon, anglers can take advantage of the dark night by fishing under a light or using submersible lights.
