On Jan. 19, Calvin Black fished the east side in 10 to 30 feet of water. His two largest fish were a 20-inch tiger trout and 18-inch splake. Overall, he caught nine fish in 2.5 hours, and missed at least as many. His most effective rig was a two-inch white tube jig tipped with chub meat. Although the ice was 12 inches thick where he fished, Calvin saw open water at the mouth of Seeley Creek and Lowry Water. Please be extremely cautious in Seeley Creek Bay, where warm springs can produce hazardous ice conditions.
